Pneumatic Cylinder (the large silver and black component):

• This is the main actuator that converts compressed air into linear motion (push or pull).

• The top section houses the piston rod, which moves up and down when air pressure is applied.

Handwheel (the black circular wheel):

• This allows manual operation of the actuator.

• Typically connected through a rack and pinion or lead screw mechanism to move the rod when no air pressure is available.

Gear Mechanism (mounted near the handwheel):

• Converts rotary motion of the handwheel into linear motion of the piston rod.

• The vertical rod with teeth beside the cylinder is a rack, and the small gear engaging it is the pinion.
